Stephanie Del Monte
Finding inspiration from her current home, the American West and the Viennese Art Nouveau movement, Jugendstil, Stephanie Del Monte creates unique handcrafted objects. She is currently exploring pieces with wood, hand-dyed cotton rope, and natural wool.
The wood is cut, shaped and charred in order to create functional as well as sculptural bowls and shapes.
The ropes are hand-dyed from natural materials. In this photograph, walnut hulls and rust were used to dye the cotton rope black.
Macrame is a textile art that uses knots. Each strand is wrapped in vibrant natural yarns to give color to the wall hangings.
